January 26, 2022 – The Sanibel Historical Village welcomes The Island Sun newspaper as a silver sponsor of the Village’s fundraiser Gala Movie Premiere on February 22, 2022, when it will show the documentary “Secrets & Stories of the Sanibel Lighthouse.”

“The Island Sun has always been a great supporter of the Sanibel community, and I can’t say enough about how much the newspaper and its staff does for us throughout the year,” said Executive Director Emilie Alfino. “We’re very grateful to have them as a sponsor.

Also joining as a silver sponsor is the Ashton Kirchner Group. “We really appreciate the community-minded support of the Ashton Kirchner Group,” Alfino said. “The way they operate their business and the values they hold are the perfect match with Sanibel’s proud history.”

Anyone interested in a business or individual sponsorship can call Alfino at (239) 472-4648 or
(239) 357-1644. “As we all know, it really does take a village – and it takes community-minded businesses and individuals to help keep our village, the keeper of history, alive on Sanibel,” Alfino said.

The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In accordance with the city of Sanibel’s regulations, masks are required inside the buildings at this time. Full guided tours will resume in January after a hiatus due to COVID. They will take place at 10:30 and 1:30 and advance reservations are not required. There is no additional fee for these tours.

The Sanibel Historical Village is located at 950 Dunlop Road (next to BIG ARTS) and there is handicap access. Admission is $10 for adults over 18. Members and children are free. The village has handicap access to all but one building, the tiny Post Office. For more information, call (239) 472-4648 during museum hours or visit
