February 3, 2022 – The Sanibel Historical Village has announced that Captiva Cruises and Coastal Cooling will both be silver sponsors of its fundraiser Gala Movie Premiere on February 22, 2022, when it will show the new documentary “Secrets & Stories of the Sanibel Lighthouse.”

“We appreciate this support from our community members. These generous donations help us fulfill our mission to preserve, share, and celebrate Sanibel’s interesting history. With their help, we can pursue our goal to improve and enhance our exhibits,” said Historical Village Executive Director Emilie Alfino.

Anyone interested in a business or individual sponsorship can call Alfino at (239) 472-4648 or
(239) 357-1644. “As we all know, it really does take a village – and it takes community-minded businesses and individuals to help keep our village, the keeper of history, alive on Sanibel,” Alfino said.

The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In accordance with the city of Sanibel’s regulations, masks are required inside the buildings at this time. Full guided tours will resume in January after a hiatus due to COVID. They will take place at 10:30 and 1:30 and advance reservations are not required. There is no additional fee for these tours.

The Sanibel Historical Village is located at 950 Dunlop Road (next to BIG ARTS) and there is handicap access. Admission is $10 for adults over 18. Members and children are free. The village has handicap access to all but one building, the tiny Post Office. For more information, call (239) 472-4648 during museum hours or visit
