November 12, 2021 – The Sanibel Historical Village has announced that Sanibel Captiva Trust Company will be the grand sponsor of its fundraiser Gala Movie Premiere on February 22, 2022, when it will show the documentary “Secrets & Stories of the Sanibel Lighthouse.”

“The Historical Museum & Village is an important part of Sanibel, and we are proud to support them in their efforts to preserve island history,” said Sanibel Captiva Trust Company founder and Chairman Al Hanser. “The Historical Village is a treasure for all of us to enjoy and learn about our island’s fascinating history. We are pleased to be able to support such an educational institution.”

“We are honored to have Sanibel Captiva Trust Company be our grand sponsor once again,” said Executive Director Emilie Alfino. “They have always been big supporters of our efforts to preserve, share, and celebrate Sanibel’s wonderful history. We are very grateful.”

Anyone interested in a business or individual sponsorship can call Alfino at (239) 472-4648 or
(239) 357-1644. “As we all know, it really does take a village – and it takes community-minded businesses and individuals to help keep our village, the keeper of history, alive on Sanibel.”

The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In accordance with the city of Sanibel’s regulations, masks are required inside the buildings at this time. Full guided tours are available only if reserved in advance for groups of no less than six, depending on docent availability. This precautionary measure is due to COVID-19. “We hope to be able to resume our regular tours, at 10:30 and 1:30, as soon as possible and within safety guidelines,” Alfino said.

At this time, the Rutland House is temporarily closed for repairs. The closure is expected to be brief.
