ISLANDER NEWSPAPER TO SPONSOR SANIBEL HISTORICAL VILLAGE GALA

January 18, 2022 – The Islander newspaper has signed on to sponsor the village’s fundraiser Gala Movie Premiere on February 22, 2022, when it will show the documentary “Secrets & Stories of the Sanibel Lighthouse.”

“We are so happy to continue our support of the Sanibel Historical Museum & Village in their efforts to both celebrate and educate residents and visitors alike to the heritage and history of Sanibel,” said Islander Account Executive Mark Martens. “It has been my pleasure to work with the Historical Village. It is a wonderful place to visit with my wife and with friends, relatives, and visitors to the area. We wish the Historical Village continued success for many years to come.”

“I can’t say enough how much the Islander does for us throughout the year,” said Historical Village Executive Director Emilie Alfino. “They cover our stories and give us the publicity that helps keep the museum going. Now they are adding a silver sponsorship to further support the Village. We are very grateful.”

Anyone interested in a business or individual sponsorship can call Alfino at (239) 472-4648 or
(239) 357-1644. “As we all know, it really does take a village – and it takes community-minded businesses and individuals to help keep our village, the keeper of history, alive on Sanibel,” Alfino said.

The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 to 4:00. In accordance with the city of Sanibel’s regulations, masks are required inside the buildings at this time. Guided tours take place at 10:30 and 1:30, and advance reservations are not required. There is no additional fee for these tours.

The Sanibel Historical Village is located at 950 Dunlop Road (next to BIG ARTS) and there is handicap access. Admission is $10 for adults over 18. Members and children are free. The village has handicap access to all but one building, the tiny Post Office. For more information, call (239) 472-4648 during museum hours.
