HISTORICAL VILLAGE’S LIGHTHOUSE DOCUMENTARY TO BE SHOWN AT SHELL POINT

April 13, 2022 – The Sanibel Historical Village’s documentary, “Secrets and Stories of the Sanibel Lighthouse,” will be shown May 3 at 7 p.m. at Connie Brown Hall at the Tribby Arts Center at Shell Point Retirement Community. The event is open to all.

The Sanibel Lighthouse is one of the area’s most recognizable landmarks, and it has a unique and largely unknown history. Shell Point’s Academy of Lifelong Learning has partnered with the Sanibel Historical Village and is proud to introduce this documentary that will take viewers on a journey through rarely seen historical footage. Viewers will discover the strong connection the lighthouse has to many island institutions.

This documentary premiered at the Historical Village’s gala on February 22, 2022. “If you missed the gala, this is an opportunity to see the documentary that was so well received,” said Historical Village Executive Director Emilie Alfino. “I would say this is a four-star film not to be missed.”

Tickets are $15 per person. Call the Tribby box office at (239) 415-5667 Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Sanibel Historical Museum and Village will begin its regular schedule on December 2, 2023, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Sanibel Historical Village is located at 950 Dunlop Road (next to BIG ARTS) and there is handicap access to eight of the nine buildings. Admission is FREE for SHMV members and $15 for non-members (adults ages 18 years and up).  For more information, call 472-4648 during museum hours or visit www.sanibelmuseum.org.
