The Sanibel Historical Village board and committee members will conduct a special
training program to get new volunteers started and to help current volunteers refresh their memories about
the many historical buildings, artifacts, and stories to share with visitors.

The program will consist of two classes. The first of the
two classes will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on January 16 in
Shore Haven, and the second class will be 1 p.m. to 3
p.m. on January 23, also in Shore Haven. Classes will
feature a general overview and presentations by village
experts, as well as a guided tour through the village.
Executive Director Emilie Alfino said, “Volunteering at
the village offers a variety of opportunities, from giving
guided tours to joining in an ‘envelope stuffing’ party!
Our training sessions are fun and a great way to meet
people. Anybody can volunteer, even if they start out
without any specific knowledge of Sanibel history. We
will teach you what you need to know and are always

The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. It
is located at 950 Dunlop Road (next to BIG ARTS). Admission is $10 for adults over 18; those under 18
and members are free. Docent-guided tours are available at 10:30 a.m. and 1 :30 p.m. at no extra charge,
