Historical Village Re-Opens Oct. 17, Seeks Volunteers

September 25, 2017 – The Sanibel Historical Village re-opens October 17, Tuesdays
through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We’re planning exciting programs this season, including a boat trip to historic Useppa
and four Twilight Talks,” said executive director Emilie Alfino. “Our annual gala
fundraiser is scheduled for February 19. Watch the local newspapers for specifics. We
look forward to seeing old friends as well as welcoming return guests.”

New volunteers are always needed at the village. Training begins November 6 and 13.
Interested people are encouraged to call 472-4648. “There are many different things for
volunteers to do, so anyone can find a comfortable spot among our village family,”
Alfino said.

The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village opens for season October 17. Hours are

Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Full guided tours take place at 10:30
a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at no additional charge, depending on docent availability. The
Sanibel Historical Village is located at 950 Dunlop Road (next to BIG ARTS) and there is
handicap access to the buildings. Admission is $10 for adults over 18. Members and

Sanibel Historical Museum and Village will begin its regular schedule on December 2, 2023, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Sanibel Historical Village is located at 950 Dunlop Road (next to BIG ARTS) and there is handicap access to eight of the nine buildings.
