February 1, 2022 – The Shack Frozen Custard recently delivered to the Sanibel Historical Village a check as part of its 12 Days of Giving program over the holidays. The Shack chose 12 local nonprofits and dedicated one day each to donate a percentage of their sales.

“We’re happy The Shack chose the Historical Village as one of the beneficiaries of owner Lynn Hoops’ kindness,” said Emilie Alfino, executive director of the Sanibel Historical Village. “We talked it up and got a lot of our volunteers and staff members to treat themselves to some frozen custard and help the Village at the same time. It was a very happy partnership, and we hope to be included next year as well.”

The Shack is also sponsoring the Historical Village’s gala fundraiser on February 22 with a platinum-level in-kind donation. Tickets are still available for the gala for $125 per person. It will be a premiere showing of a specially commissioned documentary about the history of the lighthouse and of Sanibel. For information, call Alfino at (239) 472-4648 or (239) 357-1644.

Sanibel Historical Museum and Village is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Sanibel Historical Village is located at 950 Dunlop Road (next to BIG ARTS) and there is handicap access to eight of the nine buildings. Admission is FREE for SHMV members and $15 for non-members (adults ages 18 years and up).  For more information, call 472-4648 during museum hours or visit www.sanibelmuseum.org.
