City of Sanibel’s Time Capsule on Display at the Historical Village April 1 – July 31

The City of Sanibel’s Time Capsule, as well as a variety of items placed within, is now on display at Shore Haven Welcome Center. The historic time capsule located at the Sanibel City Hall was opened on November 5, 2024, to celebrate the 50^th Anniversary of Sanibel’s incorporation.

The capsule was sealed and buried on the approximate 10^th anniversary of incorporation in 1984  as our young city’s leaders wanted to acknowledge their decade of achievements, advise later citizens, as well as to congratulate and encourage the future city administration and community. Many letters and photographs from clubs and non-profit entities were placed in the capsule.

The exhibit will be on display from April 1 through July 31, 2025.
